Shep began his
DJ career in the late 80's at Bensons Wine Bar, Essex, England.
His Sunday night residence soon became so popular they moved him
to a Friday Night slot "it was great because everyone was into
rave in the late 80's and there was me playing rare groove &
jazz, and the kid's were loving it."
It was in the early 90's that Shep got in to radio via Friends FM,
a pirate radio station in Leyton, East London, working alongside
Soul 24-7's Alan Jay.
Shep soon
moved on after hooking up with the Stomp FM boys who had just stopped
broadcasting to apply for a legal licence "we did our first
legal broadcast during a four week RSL (Restricted Service Licence)
from a porta-cabin in a pub car park. I was DJing with Soul Scene
legends like Froggy, Jasper The Vinyl Junkie and Kev Hill to
name a few. It was without doubt one of the best times of my life."
Shep has been working on legal radio for over fifteen years while
giging at such places as Lacy Lady, Qdos, Cleavage, Party Till Ya
Broke, and many more.
